Paradox - a Cube Escape game & Rusty Lake Short Film

Great news! We are finally fulfilling all the Paradox Posters and T-shirts. We expect them to arrive within 2 weeks, so before Christmas :) thanks again for your support and patience!

We already sent out all the other awards (Laura's dresses + Dossiers) and tomorrow we will sent Johan's paintings (with some extra care).

Two weeks ago we personally delivered the most precious item of the Kickstarter, the Mr. Crow mask, to a fan in China.

Now all the rewards are fulfilled we can also focus completely on a new Rusty lake project, which probably doesn't involve a Kickstarter campaign. We hope to return again though, with a new "big" project where can ask for you support. Thanks all for being so involved and making this campaign and project such a succes!

Physical rewards update!

Hi all :)

Hope you guys enjoyed the movie & game! The last 3 weeks were filled with bug solving, providing support and promotionial stuff (gaming conferences). In between we did our best to statisfy all you awesome Kickstarter backers! Please let us know if you are still waiting on your digital rewards. Big chance it ended up in your spam folder, please search for "Backerkit" if not we can send it again.

Now it's our job to send all the physical rewards! Yesterday we completed all the Paradox Dossiers (30+) and we are very happy with the result. The personal dossiers contains awesome content and a special puzzle which will unlock a secret item in the game!

Next stop is the bigger physical rewards and Paradox t-shirts / posters. It takes some time because we need to manually fill all your data :). We might send you a question about your address in the meantime, stay tuned!

First a quick note:
Sorry for the wait all - we hoped to deal with your keys first but we had some troubles today preparing all the different store versions. Only after this we could send out the promo codes to unlock Chapter 2. We have now sent three separate backerkit emails containing:
1) the promocode to unlock Chapter 2 of Cube Escape: Paradox
2) the promocode to download Victor's Paradox Album
3) a Dropbox link with 3 digital wallpapers.

A big thank you word
It’s still hard to believe we just released our movie & game crossover! We worked on the Paradox project for more than a year now and to see it live gives us goosebumps and makes us quite proud :)

As mentioned in the Kickstarter campaign: we always felt that a movie would fit the Rusty Lake universe. But to come from this idea to a finished project is a lot of hard work by a lot of talented people. Luckily it was a challenge that Sean van Leijenhorst, the director of the film, and the guys from The LAB, Producers Steve and Martin grabbed with both hands.

And wow we couldn’t be happier how they translated the world of Rusty Lake to the big screen! The shooting days were an amazing rollercoaster ride which we will never forget. From the incredible performance from our Dale Vandermeer (David Bowles) and Laura (Elena Kejvalová) to Sean van Leijenhorst and Cédric Larvoire making sure every shot was perfect, we knew we were making something very special together. The list of people from the movie crew we want to thank is too long for now but we will soon share a blog about the whole movie process, alongside an awesome making-of video! Feel free to check out our IMDB page in the meantime and leave a rating!

Moreover we want to thank you all, our Kickstarter backers who made this project possible! We were overwhelmed with your guys support - reaching our goal in less than 9 hours was a huge motivation for everyone involved. Because of your support we can provide the film and most of the game content for free, but also compensate all the hard work this amazing and passionate movie crew has put into the film.

We also couldn't do without our freelancers! Johan Scherft who made two amazing paintings that play a huge role in both movie and game (the poster is coming). Bob Rafferty who of course had to do the voice-over of Mr. Crow - his voice gave us big chills during the private premiere Prague. And of course Victor Butzelaar - who made the immersive soundtrack (check his bandcamp) for both the movie & game. The last couple of weeks we had a lot of help from our translators - these incredible people helped translating our games since Birthday and since then they keep supporting us. It means a lot to have such people around us. The same counts for you: all our fans who keep sending us fan art, the most incredible cosplay photo’s & touching comments. After 3 years of making Rusty Lake and Cube Escape games, this is what us keep us going extending the universe with new content.

Hi Guys!

First of all sorry that we didn't posted anything this month! We have been crazy busy with getting the game done as well as promoting our work on different gaming conferences (follow our Instagram for weekly updates)!

But now it is only 6 days left till the release of Paradox - A Rusty Lake Film and Cube Escape game and we very excited! It seems such a long time ago since we launched this successful Kickstarter campaign. We are still so overwhelmed with your support that made this all possible.

We have the following store pages already live where you can pre-order:

Steam

The main platform where the movie will be distributed will be YouTube, so make sure to subscribe. The movie will also be available on Steam.

If you pre-order you will receive a notification to download the game as soon as we publish it! Chapter 1 of Cube Escape: Paradox will be free for everyone to download. Chapter 2 is paid and most of you guys will receive a promocode/key for this one. Victor is almost ready with the album and the digital wallpaper as well.

For all the physical rewards (posters, t-shirts, props) we hoped to send them 2 weeks ago, but this was just not possible with all the work we had to do on the game. So after the release storm calmed down we will start fulfilling all the orders for you guys. Luckily you can play the game and watch the movie in the meantime :)

Progress + The Official Poster and Trailer!

Hi all!

We can finally share more info on Rusty Lake Paradox's progress again. But first we would like to share the official poster and trailer with you guys!

We are also proud of the official trailer that was released this week! Check it out on Youtube and leave a comment :) :

We are very excited for the Rusty Lake Paradox Private Premiere in Prague BIO | OKO this Saturday! Now the movie is ready we cannot wait to see it on a big cinema screen and meet all the Kickstarter backers that made this happen! Details on the event can be found here: Facebook.

The progress on the game is also going very well! We are now finalizing both chapters and hope to start testing in the next weeks. Cube Escape Paradox is already open for Pre-register on Android, and very soon on iOS and Steam.

In the next weeks we will also start fulfilling all the posters, t-shirts and bigger (physical) rewards. You will receive the game and other digital stuff in the week of the release (hopefully we can manage it on the day of release). If you didn't confirm or complete your Backerkit survey, please do this now to receive everything on time. Send us an email to info @ rustylake.com if you didn't receive anything from Backerkit (97 left)!
